Women pilgrims

The most famous woman ever to make the pilgrimage to Compostela was, of
course, Queen Isabel of Spain.
As far a I know women have been part and parcel of the pilgrimage since the
beginning.
There is a plethora of writings about the pilgrimage going back to the Middle
Ages; many of them mention women in the Camino, the ones I know about are in
Spanish and reading old-fashioned Spanish can be very daunting.
You should have no trouble finding the information you seek.
