ISO-IEC/JTC1/SC22/WG11 N229 is version 3.1 of the Language Compatible
Arithmetic Standard (LCAS) dated March 1, 1991 and is the same as
X3T2/91-073. It is also known as International Standard ISO/IEC
10967:1991. SC22/WG11 is the ISO working group that is responsible for
the development of these projects internationally. X3T2 is the US TAG
to SC22/WG11, which means that X3T2 provides the US positions to the
international working group.

What use to be the LCAS is now called Langauge Independent Arithmetic -
Part 1 Integer and Floating Point Arithmetic. Also, the Language
Compatible Mathematical Procedure Standard and Language Compatible
Complex Arithmetic and Procedure Standard have been renamed to LIA-Part
2 Mathematical Procedure Standard and LIA-Part 3 Complex Arithmetic and
Procedure Standard respectively.

The March 1991 version of the LIA-Part 1 is the current version of the
proposed standard. The next version is expected from the editor by the
end of the month.
