In any case, it looks like I can scratch almost every one off my individual list for the next GR653 attempt. Out of 29 people on the list, only two have sent in positive e-mail responses to my request to have them let me know if they want to be on the list. I had a verbal assent from my wife, of course, so there are 26 no-shows to scratch. I will probably leave my daughter on it, in spite of her lack of response, just as a futile effort to show a little parental control.

I will continue to send to the groups and will probably include GoCamino this time, since the list will be short enough to avoid having it bounced as spam. I did get a lot of positive responses from the groups - after I triggered off the cell phone avalanche.

 and at least two of them (including my daughter) admitted to me in person that the messages were so long that they had put off reading them and had not looked at them yet.
