Hi Patricia,
I send all sorts of things by regular US mail to Spain all the time, (including many types?of electronics) and they are delivered to the very home of the addressee without any problem whatever. Nothing has ever gone lost. True, you have to fill up a form at the post office detailing the contents and their approximate value and the nature of the item (gift), but that is a very simple thing to do and it takes but a few minutes.
Have you tried doing that? Perhaps in the time that it would take your sending the item?to a Spain-bound pilgrim here?it would have gotten to Spain itself by mail. While using FedEx may be costly the U.S. Post service charges are quite reasonable.
Regards,
Rosina
