[Gocamino] Solitude on the Via de la Plata

Taxis are certainly  an open option to be considered.
But I found buses to be frequent, to everywhere, comfortable, inexpensive, and a wonderful way to meet local "commuters" who reveal to pilgrims regional treasures otherwise not known.  
Whether you are waiting at the bus station, or on your way, "locals" know all about pilgrim albergues, restaurants, food stores and so on; their domestic political and social beefs seem to be put aside when they talk to us, pilgrims, come from foreign, far-away, lands to theirs, for reasons not modernly clear. 
A fellow bus-rider from Zamora once mused aloud that we pilgrims  must have an idea of what sent those Biblical Magi on their pilgrimage twenty centuries ago.. 
I suppose that, yes,  we  do.

Take a taxi where necessary.  It is your camino, to travel in the best 
ay for you.  There will be three or four or five taxi days for you.  
HE MOUNTAINS AFTER ZAMORA  ARE DIFFICULT.  You may need to take taxis 
o the tops of the several passes as well.
The joy of the Via de la Plata is the solitude.  The camino is yours 
lone during the day.  Evenings are spent with other pilgrims.  Walking 
lowly, nearly everyone will pass you.  This means they move on and you 
eet new pilgrims each evening.  That is how it worked for me. My Via 
e la Plata was glorious.
You will find the Via de la Plata pilgrim largely cut from different 
loth than what you have seen on the Camino Frances.  There will be a 
lurality of Germans.
Your camino should take 42 days.  Extremadura will be dangerous for you 
n the hot months.
