Hello you all,
The following appeared, in Spanish, in the Voz de Galicia yesterday:
(Translated)
" Michel Baillet (68 years old, from Mont de Marsan, France) took literally the advice from his doctor after he had a stroke ten years ago: "Walking i good for you". Doing so yesterday he walked through Lalin about to complete his seventh Santiago pilgrimage: six on the French Way and now, for the first time, through the Via de la Plata. -"there are fewer pilgrims on the Via de la Plata, while the French Way is like a procession'.  He was asked: "How did you find the albergues? and responded: "they are very good, but I think that pilgrims should pay something; today they ask for a donation, but most pilgrims do not give anything. They should ask for something, at least 3 Euros".
Then he was asked :"How much does it cost to make the pilgrimage?" and responded: "I have calculated that it costs about one Euro per kilometer, all told. Another question: "When and where did you begin the pilgrimage this year?",  he answered: "In Seville, 940 kilometers ago, on the 28th of April. I walk about 28 kilometers per day after getting up at six o'clock in the morning. I make a shorther walk before a city so as to have time to visit  when I reach it."  The last question: "Why  was it to Santiago that you decided to walk to in 1995?"
Answer:  "Because  my home town, Mont de Marsan,  is situated between Bordeux and Bayonne, by the Vecelay Route, which is not used much. I began walking there to Santiago.... one thousand kilometers away....."

Hugs!

Rosina
