[Gocamino] The Via de la Plata in September and October

Unless you have camping gear there's really only three days that you HAVE to
walk more than thirty kilometers, but the first one you'll hit by your
second or third day out from Sevilla - the leg from Castilblanco de los
Arroyos to Alamaden de la Plata. (Note, I went the northwestern route
through Ourense, not all the way up to Astorga and joining the Camino
Frances there).

That's the one that sticks out in my mind because it was very hot and very
rocky. I think about all the way to Zamora I was consuming about three
liters of water a day on the trail and dropped to a 1.5L once I moved into
the mountains and it was cooler.

I'll have to look at my journal when I get back home at the end of the week
to recall the other two legs, but by the time I hit those I was clocking
40-50km a day (No, I wasn't in a hurry and you don't have to get to the next
refugio to find a bed like on the Camino Frances; I just really enjoyed my
walk on the Camino).

Regards, Nev
