Hello you all,
There is a wonderful e-site where one, pilgrim or tourist, may obtain every
possible item of information about staying, or visiting, in Santiago. The site
is:
                                     www.santiagoturismo.com
Don't be put off by the word "turismo"; I should think that the information,
which can be read in English, is of particular help to pilgrims.
All types of places to stay are listed, including private "boarding" houses,
and their cost and location. Places to eat are also listed, by category and
location.
Of course, places of service to visitors (medical, information,
transportation, etc.) are included on an up-to-date basis.
In addition, the site contains Santiago news and even a listing of movies
being shown, including their time tables. (of American movies "Ray" and
"Aviator" are currently in exhibition).
Please note that the "Casco" is denominated "historical quarter" on the site.

The rates quoted for the places to stay are those of "High" season (May to
September and Holy Week); at other times, "Low Season" the prices are between
50% and 60% of those quoted.
Regards,
Rosina
