Dear all,
Got he following mesage from Ana:

It's not the first time I've gotten sick here or in
Spain. But the last time was in Fukuoka and as it's a
big city and my administrator informed me beforehand
of procedures to follow, I knew what to do. And of
course in Spain it's as good as being home.

But here, it's a small town and a holiday week, so the
hospitals really are closed - except for one and you
have to be a native to know the phone number to call.
At my school, they've always had young men as foreign
teachers before me, and a young guy who arrives here
usually has a Japanese girlfriend within a week, so
she shows him all the tricks, so to speak - including
what to do if he gets sick at the "wrong" time. But a
Western woman is alone.

As frightening as it all was (and still is in some
ways), I'm a teeny bit embarrassed as well. I didn't
know that message was going to go out to the group. I
was panicking and since I have to be "well-behaved"
and "quiet" here, I did my crying out in the virtual
world. Very, very nice to know I have friends there -
especially as my friends back home were certainly
imposed upon enough last year (remember?) ..

I have bronchitis, it turns out, and medicine now to
cure it. Although they couldn't do anything for the
eye condition without an optical specialist who is not
available this week, I was given some eyedrops and it
feels a bit better.
