Fiestas de San Pedro y San Pablo / San Millan

Friends-

Has anyone happened to be in Burgos on June 29th to experience the fiestas
de San Pedro y San Pablo?  What's it like?  I know large puppets are
involved... Are the festivities contained just to the 28th, or do they
begin the night before?

Also, in reviewing the guidebooks, there seem to be at least a couple of
routes for reaching San Millan de la Cogolla and returning to the Camino
Frances.  Any preferences?  Gitlitz/Davidson mentions Pazuengos as a
possible detour on the way back - has anyone been there?
