We walked from Roncesvalles this late April, and month of May arriving May 28. In the mountains, it was often cool and raining. On the plains, it was up to 30 degrees at times and generally, very nice walking weather. We had about 5 days of rain, 2 at the end of April coming out of the mountains, couple around San Juan de Ortega and Burgos. Never needed more tha a light jacket for early mornings and rain. Walked in shirt sleeves rest of the way.

  Subject: Questions: Book? maps? weather?

Hello! We are new to this listserve. We live and work with community organizations in southern Mexico. The opportunity we've hoped for to make the Pilgrimage is finally going to happen from late April till late May this year. Since we don't know very many practical details, we're hoping somebody could help with one or another of these questions:

  1) Is the book "A Practical Guide for Pilgrims: The Road to Santiago", by Millan Bravo Lozano sold anywhere in Mexico, or in the US - either in English or Spanish?

  2) OR, since we haven't been able to find a copy and don't have time to have it sent here from Britain, might anyone in Mexico possibly have a used copy we could buy?

---- or any other good book on the Camino which includes maps?

  2) Does anyone know what the weather is like there in late April and May?

  Thanks in advance,

  Kathy & Phil Dahl-Bredine
