Mission Dolores is in San Francisco, CA.  It was founded in 1776 by two
Spanish priests (Frs. Palou y Moraga) and was actually named after St.
Francis of Assisi (hence, San Francisco). It was near a lake or inlet
named 
in honor of Nuestra Senora de los Dolores, and therefore was popularly
known as Mission Dolores.

You mention the Dolores Mission.
The Mission is probably named after Miguel Hidalgo, the 74-year old
priest of the town of Dolores, who led the Mexicans in their revolt...
