Foncebadón

Ah, Foncebadón;
My son and I were biking (Sep 2000) up the long hill past the Restaurant/Bar at Foncebadón; I was completely exhausted, it was hot, etc.  My son suggested we stop, I said no, I think the hill ends just up ahead (fool).  About a hundred yards beyond the restaurant/bar I stopped and pulled my bike over into the shade and into the ditch.  While I sat in the shade, my son walked back to the rest/bar to get some soda.  When he walked back, he said, "Dad, you have got to see this place."
Although it was not my policy to retrace my steps, I went back and wow, was I glad I did.  It was like stepping back in time about 400 years!  Medieval, dark, black, heavy planked tables, etc.  I think I saw Dracula having a drink in the corner.
One of the memorable stops on the Camino.
