credential- a very good reason for purchasing it

you are right that the point is to walk the camino.  but in case something
serious happens to you along the way, its nice to know that you can buy the
credential if for some reason you can't make it all the way.  i believe that
your memories will still be yours and you will have the credential to show
people how far you got - before whatever reason took you away from your
journey.

Does it make any sense to buy a pilgrim credential with all the stamps when
