La Credencial del Peregrino

Many have already replied with viable information but I just thought I'd add my two cents worth.

When I began the Camino, I had no prior knowledge of how to get a pilgrim's credencial/passport. A stop at the tourist office in Leon (where I began the Camino) directed me to a convent and they set me up with the documentation I needed without requiring any sort of recommendation from a home parish. My companion, who is not Catholic, didn't have any problems either.

I suppose it's better to go through all the proper steps before beginning, but from my experience it's not absolutely necessary.

Buen Camino,

Lisa
