Barefoot pilgrim

Hi Lia,
19990 was, indeed, the last Jacobean year. Whenever St. James feast day,
July 25, falls on a Sunday, a Jacobean Holy Year is declared. The next one,
I think, will be on 2004. Since the number of pilgrims doubles such years,
accommodations in the albergues are extremely difficult to obtain. As for
private hotels, the Galician newspapers report that in Santiago they are
already 80% booked for the months of June and July.
Regards,
Rosina
