St. James' mother?

Reading about St. James it seems I've often seen Salome mentioned as his mother.  Reading the bible it seems to always say James the son of Zebedee.  In Luke 24 there is a mention of "Mary the mother of James" (another James?).  So I'm wondering where the info that Salome is James' mother comes from.  Does anyone know?
