CAMERAS

I have just returned from the Camino and used a Pentax Optio 330 digital
camera. Small, lightweight - almost pocket sized. Used medium resolution
which allowed me about 300 piccies on an upgraded memory card. Recharger is
also lightweight; I just had to remember to use it!! But I never got a
refusal in any cafe where I asked if I could recharge whilst I was having
breakfast.

I didn't worry at all about security or things getting nicked. Going to the
showers etc, just asked one of me mates to keep an eye on me stuff. I did
the same for them in return - no probs. And overnight, if it makes you
sleep easier, just stuff your valuables down to the bottom of your sleeping
bag; easy peasy.

My only real worry about loosing things was when I got up to leave the
Refugio at 6:00am as it was still dark. So whilst trying to make a very,
very quiet exit (why do plastic bags rustle more in the dark than in
daylight??) there was always the risk, that in my haste, I would forget
something. And yes this did sometimes happen. Best to make sure everything
is packed away the night before for a hassle-free exit in the morning.

Buenos Dias

Does anyone have an opinion on cameras. Are disposable cameras readily
available? Does anyone have a digital camera they would recommend? If you
take a digital are you forever worrying about loss - theft - damage etc.
