credential and the Church

Dear all, dear Howard,

It’s IMHO very bizarre, that the Catholic Church “claims, “to be the owner
of the Camino.
As it was in older times, the Church provided for the pilgrims more (in
material goods as food and shelter) than she does now.
The Camino is Spanish Cultural inheritance and with that partly Roman
Catholic, however the Compostella IS a roman catholic thing and if they
think in Compostelle that it was not faith - or within the limits of faith
of the Church –then they are entirely free to do so and not give the
Compostelle
( that states it was done in faith)
There is also a statement ( much simpler) issued by the pilgrims Officina
that states that you just did the Camino and IS another type of document!

I do hope with your friend, that as with all of us, the Camino will stay in
his heart!!

as always
Ultreaya and Good Health to you !
