Perhaps love of the spirit is about 'giving without asking for return'. In
contrast to the 'give and take' in the affairs of the material world.

Perhaps absolution sought through penance is about restoring honor. When
there is honor 'live and soul' exist.

Absolution could be seen through ZEN - no past, no future, just now, being
at the center of  microcosm. The key to ZEN is a strong will towards the
center and no strings attached!
