Preparation for the Camino

Taking those longer pre-Camino walks, particularly with back packs, can be
awkward. Consider contacting a local Volks march group, which are all over
the country. They regularly have walks of 5, 10,15 and 20 KM. They
provide maps of the course, (some on roads, some through the woods) have
check points that normally have water, candy and a person. They will
provide help if needed and not leave you out on the trail. You set your
own pace, but with others walking the same course, there is a measure of
safety. In Virginia one could go on a Volks march every weekend.
Go to www.ava.org or use any search engine and look for Volks march and you
will likely be able to find a group in your area.
