Introducing myself

Welcome to all the Newbies:

I'm a 57 year old woman who's a two timer. The first time I walked, I was
53 and very unfit. I did have very comfortable boots and carried a fairly
light pack. Although Shirley McClaine hadn't written her book then, I had
been inspired some years before by something I had seen on PBS called Great
Walks of the World. After Seeing that program, I knew I had to do it.
It was the most marvelous experience of my mid-life. For the first time in
what seemed like eons, I was an individual - not mom, not misses, nor any of
the other identities I'd taken on over the years raising kids and working.
The only goal I had was to let go of control - to just walk and see what
would cross my path. The one thing that I hadn't expected was how much the
camino would influence my life afterwards. It just keeps going.
