Introducing myself

Welcome, peregrina!

I first learned of the Camino from Shirley MacLaine
too - I saw her interviewed on TV after her book came
out and had a "lightbulb" moment - it was just
something I was supposed to do. I went 6 months
later.

You do not have to be in top shape to do the Walk. I
just mention this, because you should not delay your
pigrimage for that reason - go when you feel compelled
to go. You will get in shape very quickly on the
trail.

The most important physical preparations are getting
good boots and breaking them in (good walking
exercise) as well as getting a good, well-fitted
backpack. Learn how to pack it lightly and properly
and practice walking fully-loaded.

That's great you are bilingual - it will make your
experience even fuller. I have good traveler's
Spanish, but wished I had more conversational "depth".

Ultreya,
Adrienne
