Why did they walk?

Marianne (and other friends of the Camino),

I write from Santiago de Compostela where I´m doing
some research.  I won´t be home until Oct. 25; could
you please contact me again after that?  I´ll be happy
to send a copy of my article once I´m home.  Great to
see so many happy pilgrims arriving here, over 200
yesterday (Sunday).  The atmosphere, as always, is
festive and there are plenty of folks from the US still
walking and biking.
