Hi MaryJo,

I have very narrow feet so can't recommend on that
basis. Here's my experience on various types of boots
over the years:

Nike - 2 pairs: comfortable, fell apart the fastest.

Vasque - 2 pairs: best quality, comfortable, but the
stiffest within the comfortable range.

Hi Tech - 2 pairs: not well known, well priced (took a
chance on possible "low quality"), best pairs for
comfort, VERY good quality of sole and uppers.

Merrell - 1 pair: real disappointment in the comfort
department, lace hook broke relatively early on.

Montrail - 1 pair: very good quality, not very
comfortable.

Don't know how these brands rate relatively, but
that's been my experience. Also, to be fair to Nike's
I wore them daily (avg 7 - 10 miles) for over a year.
Same with Vasque and Hi Tech.

I'm taking my Hi Tech's to Spain.

Blessings, Jess
