Wow, am I glad to hear that! After four months of searching, the Rockport Alamosos were what I
decided on. I can honestly say that they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. And more
importantly they give a lot of support, have a steel shank, are completley waterproof and
breathable, and make walking over rough ground feel like you are walking on a cushion. I'm not too
happy though to hear the heels wear out after 500 miles. For anyone who is interested, they retail
for $129 but if you can find a Rockport 'outlet store' you can buy them for $79.

I also bought (just a few days ago) a pair of Clarks "Terrainer" sandals for wearing after the days
walk. They are also extremely comfortable and I've been wearing them around the house (too cold to
wear them outside now). They feel so good on my feet that I hate to take them off.

I'll be leaving on May 9th and just can't wait now! :-)

Russ
