Subject: Hotel Information for 1993-05 Meeting.

I have made conference arrangements at the Garden City Hotel for
the X3J11 and X3J11.1 conferences during the week of 1993-05-17
to 1993-05-21. You must make your reservations by 1993-04-23 with
the hotel:

	Garden City Hotel
Garden City, Long Island, New York
	Telephone: +1 516 747 3000
	FAX: +1 516 747 1414
	US Toll Free: +1 800 547 0400

The singe/double room rate is 130.00 USD per night. There is
pick-up service from Kennedy (JFK) or La Guardia (LGA) New York
airports (you need to call the hotel to arrange for a pick-up).
You probably won't need to rent a car.

The Garden City Hotel is a four-star hotel in the center of
Nassau county. There are shops, restaurants, etc., within
walking distance of the hotel. The hotel has a health club
that guests may use for free.

The hotel is across the street from the Long Island Rail Road
(LIRR) train station which will take you to Penn. Station (midtown)
in Manhattan (about 40 minutes, $4.00 fare). The hotel concierge
can arrange for Broadway theater tickets.

The North Shore (Long Island Sound) and the Shore Shore (Altantic
Ocean, Jones Beach, etc.) are within 10 miles of the hotel.
Although May on Long Island should be very comfortable, the water
temperatures are still a little too cool. However, the beaches are
still fun even if you don't go in the water.

I'll be sending out maps, more detailed directions, etc., in the
next mailing. If you have questions on things to do (e.g., a
trip to Chinatown at 4 AM) give me a call or send E-mail.

I look forward to seeing you all!
