Hi Fellow Pilgrims,
I am going to be in Assisi Italy this Summer and I'm trying to make my way
to the Somport pass region and walk to Jaca Spain. I did this route once
back in '04 coming from England and at that time I flew to Pau France,
trained to Oloron Saint-Marie and caught a bus over the mountain to Canfranc
Estation. I'm a bit in the dark this time coming from Italy. The best I have
found so far is to fly from Pisa to Lourdes via Barcelona. The flight is
pretty reasonable, but I'm not sure what to do when I get to Lourdes
(besides visiting the Giotto). Does anyone know if there is a train/bus to
Oloron Sainte-Marie or even Pau from Lourdes. Or maybe there is a direct
route to Somport from Lourdes that I have overlooked. Any suggestions would
be most appreciated.
Buen Camino to all,
Jeff Mayor
