Take bus from Pomplona to Roncesvalles, leaves 1800 from bus station. It is cheap. In Roncesvalles, all buses are met by a van taxi of sorts where each pilgrim will pay an individual charge like ten euros and you are transported to SJPdP.

I did it November 2011. Now, check the bus line and see if an earlier bus has been added. I believe that when more pilgrims walking there are two buses. In November, there was only the one leaving at 1800 hrs.
