[Gocamino] Iberia Air Connections

I know what you mean.
I suffered not only similar, but worse, experiences with Air France and Delta, more than once. Moreover, baggage was rifled with and the items taken therefrom were never compensated for by the airlines.
I suppose that traveling anywhere is chancy.

Subject: Re: [Gocamino] Iberia Air Connections

I flew Iberia from Miami to Barcelona to catch a train to start the Camino
alk last September. For my trip , three of the four Iberia flights
ere cancelled, one delayed for 24 hours. I missed connecting flights
hat they issued vouchers for. The vouchers ended up being invalid at
he counters when I presented them. It took me weeks to recover some of
he money I lost. My bottom line is that I will never fly Iberia again.
Sorry for the discouraging information but thought you might want to know.
Randi

went to the Iberia Airlines site to check fares to Spain this summer. I
ound a reasonable (by today's standards) round trip fare, but there was
ne hitch. The return flight that they offered for this fare would have
e arriving in Madrid from Santiago at 10:45 and my Chicago bound flight
s supposed to leave at 11:50. That seems very close timing to me, but
hat is what Iberia has laid out. I know that I would be in the same
erminal, and I also would have just carry on luggage, but does this
onnection seem possible to those of you who may have had to transfer
lights in Madrid? What would happen if I missed the international flight
ecause I could not make the connection in time? Since Iberia suggested
he flights, are they liable to either put me up for the night or find me
new flight, or would I be just "out of luck".
I am wondering if the stress of making that flight home is worth the money
 would be saving.... Any opinions????????????
Glenn
