The Iberian Peninsula, rich with the multifarious traditions of Castile, Catalonia, Andalusia, Galicia, the Basque country, and the Sephardic homelands, yields up its treasures in this program of song from the Romantic era to our own time. Included are works by Granados, Sor, Montsalvatge, Nin, Toldrà, Guridi, Mompou and many others. Members of Caramoor’s 2011 Vocal Rising Stars program -- soprano Corrine Winters, mezzo-soprano Wallis Giunta, tenor Andrew Owens and baritone Carlton Ford -- will perform with pianists Steven Blier and Michael Barrett.
