Hi Donald,
Thank you so much for your encouragement ....without a doubt I feel even
more drawn to doing a "basque Camino.

Best wishes, Wendy

The Guernika Peace Museum is remarkable - the tragedy and horror of
the bombing of Guernika, but more too - peacemakers around the world,
stories of people rebuilding lives that war and human violence had
ruined, haunting, and inspirational. I was there to see the museum
and the old Basque Parliament and the older oak that recalled where
the parliament began in outdoor councils in the middle ages. What I
didn't expect to see were Camino markers. People were beginning
their pilgrimage at Guernika. The countryside around it is
beautiful, mountainous, lush green. I don't know how the way goes
from there, whether over the mountains to the Camino Frances or along
the coast, but Guernika is the ancient capital of the Basque country
and very well worth the visit.
