OK,
If you can't get through the site posted for? pilgrims statistics then go to:
www.archicompostela.org
when the page comes up press on the small multi-colored shell towards the upper center; that will take you to a page with a variety of flags and languages (Spanish, German, French, Italian and English).? Press on the British flag and on the? page that comes up go down to the horizontal "menu" and press on Statistics..... and there you'll be.
You may also want to check out the other writing listed on the "menu". They are very interesting.

The information will soon be available in Portuguese as well. Last week the premier Brasilian Travel publication "Brasil Travel News" awarded?Santiago de Compostela first? prize as the most desirable place to visit for Brasilians. Xose Manuel Iglesias, Galicia's economic development and tourism director, has gone to Sao Paulo, Brasil, to receive the prize.

As we know, Brasilians are very enthusiastic about the Camino and their pilgrim numbers have increased an average of 13% yearly for the past ten years. Luckily for them the Brasilian currency, "Reais" is holding against the Euro far better than our anemic dollar.

Oh well!

Hugs!

Rosina
