The monastery of San Juan de la Peña is southwest of Jaca, in Huesca, Spain.
A very important monastery of Aragon in the Middle Ages, it is possibly the
oldest monastery in Spain. Sheltered from marauders and the elements under a
huge cliff, San Juan de la Peña means 'Saint John of the Rock'.
