[Gocamino] Recent pilgrims' data

Hello you all:
With huge apologies for the delay, I hasten to convey to you the pilgrims' 
statistics for the first four months of this year.  I trust that you won't mind 
receiving them all in a compound message:
279 Pilgrims received the Compostela last January.: 204 males and 75 females. 
255 walked, 22 rode bicycles and 2 went on horseback.
546 pilgrims received the Compostela last February:  320 males and 226 women. 
 522 walked and 24 rode bicycles.
3,128 pilgrims received the Compostela last March: 1,876 males and 1,252 
females. 2,799 walked, 313 rode bicycles, 15 rode horses and 1 went by wheelchair.
3,305 pilgrims received   the Compostela last April:  1,974 males and 1,358 
females.  2,945 walked, 318 rode bicycles, 33 rode horses and 9 went by 
wheelchair.

Pilgrims under 30 years of age were 98 in January; w24 in February,;  1,753 
in March and 1,105 in April.     Between the ages of 30 and 60 there were 172 
in January; 299 in February;  1,284 in March  and 1,730 in April.   Over 60 
years of age there were 9 in January;  23 in February; 91 in March and 470 in 
April/

The stated pilgrims' reasons for making the pilgrimage were  solely 
religious:  20u8 in January;  449 in February;  1,285 in March  and 1,299 in April.  
Religious and cultural motives:  48 in January;  77 in February;  1,510 in  
March  and 1,720 in April.  Stated motives devoid of religion:  23 in January;  20 
in February;  333 in March and 286 in April.

The largest number of non-Spaniard pilgrims in January were:  18 from the USA 
 (Hurrah!), 16 from Italy, 15 from France, 12 from Brasil, 6 from Germany, 5 
each from Portugal, Austria and Switzerland, 4 from Australia and the rest 
from numerous countries for a total of 110.   
In February 64 came from Portugal, 26 from Germany, 17 from France, 12 from 
Japan (!), 8 from Italy, 6 from Brasil, 5 from Holland, 4 each from the United 
kingdom and the USA, and the rest from various other countries for a total of  
166 foreign pilgrims.
In March a total of 955 pilgrims came from countries other than Spain:  201 
from Portugal; 193 from Germany; 89 from Italy; 60 from the USA; 44 from 
Ireland; 41 from Belgium; 40 from the United Kingdom; 38 from France; 30 from 
Mexico; 22 from Japan; 19 from Canada; 15 from Brasil; 13 from Australia; 12 fretum 
Norway; 10 from Switzerland; 10 from Holland; 9 from Austria and the rest 
froim several other countries.

the largest number of the 707 foreign pilgrims in April came from Germany, 
303; from France, 239; from Portugal, 173; from Italy, 157; from the United 
Kingdom, 103; from Canada, 85; from Austria, 88; from the USA 60; from Holland, 
58; from Belgium, 56; from Brasil, 33; from Australia, 31; from Ireland, 27; 
from Mexico, 18; from Sweden, 12, and the rest from several other countries in 
diminishing numbers.

Let me know if you'd like to know other related data such as points of 
departure, route followed and profession/occupatio  of pilgrims.
Also.... should the numbers  be posted on a month-by-month format?

Please remember that these numbers reflect ONLY those pilgrims who sought, 
and received, the Compostela at the Santiago Pilgrims Office.  They do not, in 
the least,  include all the pilgrims in the Camino at any one time.
