[Gocamino] In and Out of Bilbao

Dear Friends,
I am planning to pick-up the Camino in Pamplona this June. I am flying 
into Bilbao from Heathrow late in the evening and I want to catch a bus 
(or train) to Pamplona the next morning so that I don't lose any time. 
I have never been to Bilbao and I don't know how far the airport is out 
of town and I would like to book a room near the bus station or train 
station for my one night there.
Does anyone have experience with doing this?
