Friends of the Road to Santiago and this listserve

During June of 2003, I experienced a series of remarkable "coincidences" that started my journey to the Camino. I was searching for some meaningful way to mark the conclusion of a major portion of my life, and the beginning of a new (and realistically final) phase...and mention of this Camino quite miraculously just appeared again, and again, and again before me in manner that I could not deny or resist it. Since then, I have been collecting information (much of it from this listserve) and equipment, and getting myself ready for May 4, 2005 when I will start the actual journey at SJPP. I already have a copy of my airline tickets pinned to my office door, and a map of my route across Spain on my office wall! I would appreciate any help in keeping me informed after GOCAMINO disappears. Rosina, if it is possible, please put me on your list for Camino information.

Perhaps a stupid question but how will I get the "credential/Pilgrim Passport" if this group ceases to exist?
I would also like the archives to somehow remain accessable because I have yet not mined all of its treasures.
Thanks to all of you for your messages which have added to my excitement and appreciation of the Camino.
Glenn

  Hi Linda,
I, for one, owe you an enormous debt of gratitude. If it had not been for your magnificent Camino book I doubt very much that I would have become as impassioned about the Camino..... No way.
But a writer must go on, and on, I suppose, to other literary pastures..
Will you keep us informed about your new books, etc.?
Will you still live in Rhode Island? Will you keep in touch?
I wish you the greatest and most satisfying success in every one of your endeavors.

Hopefully the "American Pilgrims on the Camino" group from California will have a list serv. I subscribed for a while to Santiagobis, but did not find it to my liking. The St. James listserv is, in my opinion, intellectually and practically informative, as well as quite relevant. But, we American pilgrims should have a listserv initiated in our continent, methinks.
When the GOCAMINO list serv was down a few months ago, I put together a list of the many GOCAMINO members who wrote me to ask what was happening. (I didn't know); later, as Camino related information came my way, I sent it on to those on the list.
When we find ourselves bereft of the GOCAMINO list (sigh!), and until a new one is formed somehow, I shall continue to send on Camino information to the individual addresses that I compiled. Let me know if you'd like me to add yours.
Meanwhile, someone from the Pilgrims office informed that about 177,000 (One hundred and Seventy-seven thousand) pilgrims had solicited a Compostela this year as of last week. Presumably, the detailed information will be available in a couple of weeks.
  Warm regards to all,
and to Linda, a big, big hug! Love ya!
  Rosina
