Not necessarily. I came across a guy who, each morning, set out and drove
his car about 10 km along the Camino and then parked up. He would then walk
back to where he started in the morning and pass me on the way. And then,
in the afternoon, he would walk back to his parked car! Of course, I
never saw him in the afternoon as he was then behind me. So, in effect he
was doing a double Camino, but he did not have to carry any pack on his back
and all of his camping gear was carried in the car. Now, if I too only did
10km that same day, then we would both end up in the same village in the
evening and the whole thing would be repeated the next day, so that again I
would meet him walking towards me in the morning.

Strange, but true.
