I just completed the camino as well, starting in Pamplona. I agree, the walk was amazing until the last 4 days from Sarria. It became overpopulated with ¨turigrinos¨ as I heard people refer to those who walk the last stretch without a pack. People definitely made it a race and the refugios were full by 1. But, you have to finish it so I´d recommend walking to Finisterre, it was definitely a much better way to finish the camino. The walk wasn´t crowded at all. I could get up at 9 and still have a bed when I arrived in the afternoon. Finisterre is absolutely gorgeous and the town is charming. The first part of the camino was everything I had hoped it would be and the people I met along the way made it one of the most unique experiences of my life. To all those on their way, Buen Camino!

Me and my boyfriend had just come back from Spain. We walked from St. Jean Pied du Port pretty much all the way; took a bus between Burgos anf Leon. The camino is becoming pretty crowded already, especially from Sarria, where the last stretch begins. For me the best part of the Camino was the first half, from St. Jean Pied du Port. The most beautiful views (though quite difficult to walk because of the mountains) and the most friendly people. Santiago itself was a huge dissapointment, seems to be a tourist trap. My advice for Santiago is: go see the tomb of the Apostle, get your Compostelana and get out of that City as fast as you can! If you have the time, go to Finisterre by the bus or on foot-it is the most spectacular place in Galicia, we loved it!
