age and the camino

Hello, Elizabeth,
My recommendation is to buy the Pili Pala Press book. It has lists of
hostals and the like. So does the Millan Bravo book. I started in Sahagun
and can give you names of places to stay from there on, including Burgos as
I rested there. Did not carry a sleeping bag. Stayed in refugios 3 times
because that's all there was. Two had blankets so no problem. Third
didn't and that was awful. Weight is crucial, I wouldn't carry one thing
more than you REALLY need.
There are a number of private refugios now that are quite lovely. If you get
stuck, ask at the refugios where to stay. The hospitalieros know the
neighborhood well.
You are in for a major life adventure. Enjoy.
Nancy
