age and the camino and planning your daily walk

Nancy,

what I found helpful in planning the daily walk was information I found
in two books: the pilgrim guide to Spain published by the Confraternity
of St James which you can order from their web site and the maps from
the Guia Practica del Peregrino by Millan Bravo Lozano published by
Everest, which I bought in Pamplona as I could not locate a source from
the US. The CSF guide was detailed and accurate both in path
descriptions and location of bar, refugio, meson, etc. If you nothing
is listed you can always ask at the local bar if they have rooms, they
will find you something somewhere.
There are very good guides in French, German, Dutch and Italian which I
saw other pilgrims carry, small enough to carry in a pocket and with
detailed information on hostels, and refugios, perhaps you can look for
them if you plan to travel through one of those countries.
