Hi Maura,
Anno Domini indeed is the genitive form in Latin meaning Year of the Lord but CE is used in the Latin, and other countries, as an abreviation for Christian Era. I can understand why political correctness, in those countries that worry about it would come out with a different meaning for CE instead of Christian Era (which is, if you think about it, what it is: the counting of the years commencing with the birth of Christ); such PC terms, whatever, are not used everywhere. The Archbishop did say Christian Era.
Oh well!
Rosina
