Subject: New Santiago Route

> Hello you all,
> The Valencian Council of Culture in collaboration with the Camino Friends
Association of Valencia has published a new Camino guide called "From
Valencia to Santiago, Another Route".
> The publication contains Camino information on each of the five provinces
traversed by the route from Levante to Santiago. Pilgrims will find in the
guide specific information regarding the topography, the climate, the
facilities and the relative difficulty, or ease, of walking the Valencian
coast, Castilla-LaMancha, Madrid, Castilla-Leon and Galicia segments.
> The guide includes a map that details the route with specificity and
informs on the towns crossed and the distances, in kilometers, between them,
as well as their altitude with reference to sea level.
> The route traverses 115 kilometers in Valencia, 400 in Castilla-Mancha and
15 in Madrid, it then joins the Via de la Plata for the remaining 227
kilometers to Santiago.
> Following this route it appears that pilgrims with limited time may
commence their pilgrimage in Madrid, right off the plane, and walk, or
bicycle, 242 kilometers to Santiago thereby qualifying amply for the
Compostela.
> Warm regards,
> Rosina
