In The New York Times book review section of today a biography of the book
"Sir Walter Raleigh", written by Raleigh Trevelyan, is reviewed by Paul S.
Seaver.
The full page review ends with a quotation of a poem, or part thereof,
reportedly written by Raleigh in 1603. The references to the Camino are inescapable
in the cited verse that reads:
"Give me my scallop-shell of quiet,
My staff of faith to walk upon,
My scrip of joy, immortal diet,
My bottle of salvation,
My gown of glory, hope's true gage,
And thus I'll take my pilgrimage."

Does anybody here know the full poem, if such there is, and the context upon
which it was written?
