I was there,
The explosive was the sort of firecracker that any kid may set off in his
backyard on July 4th and it did not cause undue alarm.
Later on, about 6:00 p.m. a group of students and young people held a
demonstration were the Praza Galicia meets the casco and they halter traffic for
hours and hours. The protest ad to do with the fact  that a small building on rua
nova, erstwhile used for civic and student purposes was being sold for private
use.
At twelve o'clock, midnight, there was a fantastic light and sounds gigantic
spectacle on Obradoiro, with the pilgrim figure spewing fire was flying about
and all of us in the square were periodically showered with on and on
fireworks above our heads while magnificent Camino images were reflected on the
Cathedral.  It was glorious.
