Matamoros statue in the Cathedral

I would like to comment on this one, from an artist
point of view, and personally, I find the cross to be
the hardest thing to accept, since it represents much
suffering, and I would call it an instrument of
torture, which it actually is, and this way of
execution was meant for the slaves in the Roman
empire, and the mystification of the cross as symbol,
that has occurred through the centuries, does not make
it beautiful. I suggest we throw it out, and put some
flowers instead... I like roses!!!
