Hi..my friend was able to obtain a credential at the Archbishop's
Palace..plus receive his first sello. I haven't introduced myself but have
been following the discussion and helpful ideas. My name is Johnnee
(Corrales, New Mexico) and I traveled the Camino in Fall, 2000 from Pamplona
to Santiago..alone with no Spanish skills..all went beautifully.
My sister and I will be leaving shortly from Phoenix (October 15) to
Pamplona to begin our journey. In preparation for this trip, I have just
completed an intensive conversational Spanish class at the Cervantes
Instituto in Albuquerque...with great hopes of improving my communication
skills. I look forward to walking in the late Fall...thanks for the climate
info (I added a poncho to the pack!). Also, I've appreciated the comments
on jet lag...had planned to arrive and walk the short distance to Cizur
Menor but maybe a leisurely overnight in Pamplona may make more sense. Any
suggestions on places to stay in Pamplona? Thanks again for your good
thoughts...if I don't see you on the Camino perhaps, we will meet in Santa
Barbara at the Friends meeting in early Spring. Johnnee
