Almost - pre-Camino jitters

Hi everyone
and thanks for your coments on this topic.

However, I feel that the part that Doug originally raised a few days ago is
a very important one, about his "almost" Camino, so can I refresh it?

It was his story about arriving in Spain after the transatlantic flight and
being unable to sleep and becoming very anxious, inexplicably so. He said
he is well trained in walking and can speak Spanish, so he was completely
taken aback by this high anxiety. He was very honest with himself and took
a plane home again rather than begin the Camino and be completely
overwhelmed by panic. I think that was the gist of it, am I right Doug?
You felt that jetlag may indeed be part of it, but still you wonder about
it...?

Personally I used to be the sort of person who would jump into anything,
fearlessly, but as the years have gone by, I have found anxiety can indeed
take you by surprise and waylay you. This could be a depressing topic (!)
but I believe in developing positivity and trying to work with one's traits
realistically.

So I wondered if there are any of you who wanted to share any experiences
that would help those of us who "worry"!
Peace to all
Sally
