I've appreciated all the thoughts regarding anti-American sentiment. I'm
not much of a 'patriot'...no stars and stripes, red-white-blue, no t-shirts
with English writing; I've lived in South America and Europe and have
learned languages other than English, and do not think this war is a good
thing. Even so, with all that's going on right now, perhaps I should go a
bit later than the end of April, but I have things going on here at home
which make that impossible.
But that's not my question. My dilemma is one of planning. I'll be able
to go only short distances at first, planning on getting stronger as I go.
I'm starting out from Pamplona, hoping to find shortish hops between
refuges; with that in mind, I've been looking at info about refuges and
where they are. Example: the refuge in Cizur Menor is open June-Sept, and
Pamplona-Uterga looks too long for my first walk. Ventosa & Najera are open
"SUMMER"..what's that, and if that means everything's closed between
Navarete and Azofra, that too is way too long for me to start out with.
Will I be able to find some place to stay, or not??? Maybe what to do is
start out farther up the Camino where refuges are open during my time? I'm
really in need of some help here; I have till April 20 to figure out if I
go or not! Many thanks, Sarah
