Hello you all,
Again, the Santiago University has offered academic credits to Podiatry and
Physiotherapy students that will tend to foot and muscle needs of Camino
pilgrims.
Last year's experiment was so successful that the number of students taking
part in the project this year has grown to fifty. They will be supervised by
20 professional physiotherapists.
The largest group will be located at the Orbigo Hospital because, according
to Salvador Sanchez, one of the directors of the project, "the most serious
foot and muscle problems, including blisters, occur during the first stages of
the Camino since most pilgrims are not conditioned to walk 20 or more
kilometers daily".
The services of the students will be free of charge.
Regards,
Rosina
